Guitar Lessons

Guitar lessons for kids (age 14+) are a school year commitment with payment by the semester in advance. During the summer, lessons for kids are available by the lesson.  Adults may sign up for single lessons or for a semester package. Lessons are taught by Richard Upchurch, who was a touring musician with Emma Gibbs Band for 10+ years performing all over the U.S.  Richard has written film scores, produces albums, and his musical works of art from his company BrandNewNoise are sold all over the world. He regularly collaborates with rock stars on projects in his studio, including the Black Keys, the Flaming Lips, and Tedeschi Trucks Band. ​​

2025 - 2026 Guitar Lesson Registration

Lessons begin August 18 for the full school year, and are available at BrandNewNoise, 5706 Goodwin Ave., Dallas, TX. Additional single lessons are also available. Studio Policies

• Requirements
  • ​Students must be at least 6 years old.
  • Students must provide their own guitar.
  • Students are expected to provide their own music and assignment books for the lesson each week.
• Scheduling
  • Lessons are at least once a week on the same day and time.
  • You may reschedule your lesson a minimum of 48 hours in advance by swapping times with another student. Swap list available upon request. No shows are charged in full.
• Practicing is REQUIRED, and necessary for learning and improvement - 5 days per week for the length of your lesson is our goal.

Holidays and Important Dates

• August 18 - Lessons begin
• September 3 - Labor Day (no lessons)
• October 16 - 23 (no lessons) *these dates may change
• November 24 - 28 - Thanksgiving break (no lessons)
• December 12 - January 4 - Winter break (no lessons)
• January 5 - lessons resume
• March 16 - 20 - Spring break (no lessons)
• April 6 - 10 - (no lessons) *these dates may change
• May 8 - Spring semester ends​

2025 - 2026 Tuition

• Tuition is billed by the semester and may be paid with Zelle ([email protected]), Venmo (@jillmontgomerymusic), cash, check, or credit card (with a 3.5% service fee).
• Tuition payments are due no later than August 1 and December 1.
• Tuition must be paid in advance in order to schedule lessons.
• ​Once payment is processed, you will receive confirmation and a code to use to schedule your lessons. 

Per semester in studio:

• 30 minutes: $1120
• 45 minutes: $1680
• 60 minutes: $2240

Registration

Only accepted students may register. Choose your lesson length, send in tuition using Zelle ([email protected]), Venmo (@jillmontgomerymusic), or the links below for credit card payments, and we will schedule your lessons.
