About Us

Jill Montgomery

 

Jill is an M.B.A. and M.A. Arts Administration graduate of Southern Methodist University. Jill has a B.M. in piano performance from Centenary College where she studied with Constance Knox Carroll, and an M.M. in piano performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, where she studied with Elizabeth and Eugene Pridonoff. She has also studied and performed at the Aspen Music Festival, the Brevard Music Festival, and the Gnessin Institute in Moscow, Russia. Jill has performed as a soloist with the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra, the Monroe, LA Symphony Orchestra, and the Centenary Chamber Orchestra. She performs regularly at corporate and private special events and in collaboration with area vocal and orchestra students.  Jill has taught group and private piano lessons at the Cincinnati School for Creative and Performing Arts, the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, Louisiana State University, the Louisiana State University Laboratory School, and in her private studios in Baton Rouge and Dallas.

Jill’s students have won the Monroe Symphony Concerto Competition, the DeBose International Piano Competition, Louisiana Music Teachers’ Association State Rally, and the Music Teachers’ National Association Baldwin Junior High Competition in Louisiana. Jill is a recipient of a Music Teachers’ National Association Teacher Enrichment Grant and has served as a judge for many piano competitions, including the Mississippi Music Teachers’ Association State Special Recognition Recitals and the Louisiana Music Teachers’ Association Baldwin Junior High Piano Competition. She was actively involved with the Baton Rouge Music Teachers’ Association and the Louisiana Music Teachers Association, and is currently a member of the Dallas Music Teachers’ Association, Texas Music Teachers’ Association and Music Teachers‘ National Association.
